13.4 Letting Go & Letting God
I had a profound realization one day
when I was in awe with all the great ideas
that kept popping into my head:
I wasn't putting them there.
Something, someone, from somewhere
was doing the work... and it sure wasn't me!
For whatever reason, I've been selected as one
of God's Couriers of Cool Ideas.
It's quite a nice job and comes with many benefits: accolades, status, excitement, and respect from others. You get credit for all kinds of wonderful innovations, and people stand gape-jawed wondering how you got to be such a sharp cookie.
At one point in my life, I seriously thought I had something to do with the Genius, but now realize that as a Courier of Cool Ideas, I get the honor and privilege to stand with open arms and receive insights, ideas, and creative bursts of genius.
My job is to remind myself everyday that I’m the delivery person. I’m not the true Creator, but a messenger with a smile on my face and sass in my step.
Do I still call myself a Genius? Absolutely… with an asterisk. A person gifted with Genius like a Pony Express rider with a precious mailbag galloping across the prairie.
I’m tasked to deliver it others, to use it for good,
and to transform the world around me.
